WELCOME TO ALMA MATER
The dark past of our civilization has left indelible marks on our souls and destroyed many lives.
Our central government has tried by all means to stem despair and confusion, confining the most dangerous elements and the most abject members of our species to ghetto cities controlled by the 'Salvation Army, thus ensuring our safety.
For the individuals locked up there, there is no redemption.
But what about the confused masses, seeking shelter and safety, well-being and happiness?
Many fortress cities have sprung up in response to the needs of the population, and today we are pleased to present to you the most modern, happy and rich oasis of peace that our brave government has ever been able to conceive.
Welcome to Alma Mater, the city of the future!
In order to live there, you will not need to be a millionaire, nor do you need to be born into the right family.
Your desires for wealth, beauty and happiness will be completely fulfilled by our zealous government once you agree to the following conditions and become our full citizens:
- Unconditionally accept every rule of good coexistence developed by the Ethics Council ( See Annex XY456 )
- Unconditionally agree to avoid all critical thinking, on pain of severe scrutiny and punishment by the Civic Police and the Council of Justice ( See Annex C - Z 321, regarding “critical thinking: dangerous destabilizer of past democracy, how the government fulfilled to stabilize western civilization )
- Any even minimal break-ins will result in a decrease in “Good Civilization Points”, and consequently a decrease in the availability of goods such as food, cosmetic surgery, medical care, and any other goods. Break-ins and “Good Civilization Points” are closely monitored by the Ethics and Justice Councils and promptly transmitted to the Civil Police, who will pass it on to the guilty citizen.
- Unconditionally accept any health treatment, which has already been approved, is being approved or will be approved in the future by the Health and Safety Council ( see Annex K- 45/098, paragraph 3, concerning mandatory health treatment)
- Unconditionally accept any restrictions on the use of natural resources that are unilaterally imposed for the good of the people by the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Council ( see Annex 567 Bis post-disaster )
- Accommodations and assets that are given to the citizens of Alma Mater are scrupulously evaluated by the Council for Justice on a case-by-case basis, and decisions are always to be considered legitimate.
As of today, Mayor Robert Zhao and the Honorable Rosaline Hartmann, who heads the Ethics Council, will be happy to receive your applications for the life you deserve to live, if you obey.
